We need more cops? no we need real cops !!

Well, just this moring, I woke up late (like usual, getting up late, going late, eating late, staying at work late and going bed late, I'm just getting synchronized to the fact that we're a 3rd world country, and hey, isn't that supposed to mean we're late?? ).

So I took a cab to go work, and as we were rolling, I saw a cop writing tickets (or taking money, how will I know?) to 3 people who did an unauthorized turn (they made it unauthorized to write tikets, believe me!!), and just 2 meters ahead, we found an old women (maybe crazy, who knows), sitting on the center of the street (and I mean sitting) and smoking, so I'm thinking "why didn't the cop move?", and after "maybe he didn't see her", we pass the lady there, and a cop just ahead, in front of the hole scene, is talking on the phone (I mean, this is a circulation cop, so what in the hell is he doing?? ).

The fact is that cops are not about our security, not about the circulation, it's all about the money. We all can see that the number of cops is increasing but the situation is much pretty the same (just more tickets, more money to the cops and so).

Why we should support Google

Well, after writing two blog entries criticizing compagnies, I'm thinking I should write a good one supporting a company.
Well I like Google's products, I mean every product let's see :

• Google's search engine : simply the best out there, there are some functions that few know (link:www.website.com gives you all websites having links that references that site), and hey, it can translate a page for you, it can search for similar pages talking about the same subject, and the best of all, if the website is down, it can show you a cached version!!!
• Gmail : I use it everyday, microsoft gives you a fucking 25 Megs, hey Yahoo gives 1 Gigs!! but who cares I have my 2.6 Gigs on GMail and it's growing in space every minute!!! and look to the functionnalities : AJAX to make it the fastest, conversations, and now we can chat with our GTalk pals from the same interface!!
• Google Earth : even NASA couldn't make a better product.
• Picassa : who cares about ACDSee when Picassa is there and free!!
• And the list is very very long

Enough for the products, let's talk about the company, for years we've been using Yahoo and MSN without any new functionnalities, and now Google is here and every month we have some new feature (poor Yahoo and Microsoft are dying to follow ) and the best, FBI wanted to have the search logs from major search engines (imagine what they could do with that! everyone who's against the current regime will be fried, and hey, where are our democratic rights in there?? ) and what did they do? they all handeled them their logs, except who?? yeah Google !!

So yeah I support Google, and hope you all fellows do.

And the US compagnies Fever...

Yeah yeah, it's not only our Moroccan compagnies that have fever issues, US companies (I mean really Big big compagnies), have their Software Patent Fever. First of all : Q: What are Patents ? A : A patent is a form of protection for an invention. It is a give-and-take between society and an inventor. The inventor discloses the invention, and society gives him a time-limited monopoly to derive commercial value. Q : What is the difference between copyright and patent? A : Everyone who writes a computer program automatically owns the copyright in it. It's copyright law that made Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and the entire software industry so very big. It's the same legal concept that also protects books, music, movies, paintings, even architecture. Q : So why Patents? A : When a gun goes over the counter, the seller and the buyer will always say that it's only for protection. In reality, many guns are used to rob, to kidnap, to murder, or to wage wars. It's the same with patents. "Patents are being used as an offensive measure. [...] If you don't have any patents, you don't have any weapons in your armoury." From John MacPhail, Partner, Baker & McKenzie (one of the world's largest law firms) So wanna hear more, listen to this crap : Now any site that uses rich-media technology implementations, including Flash, Flex, Java, Ajax, and XAML, when the rich-media application is accessed on any device over the Internet, including desktops, mobile devices, set-top boxes, and video game consoles will need a licence. Why? because our fellows from US Patents granted some shit company, that did innovate nothing, a patent on AJAX a lead technology in Web Development. After the chicken fever, the logos fever

So, what's getting into our companies heads? they're all changing logos, we're always hearing about the "new graphic charter".

So recently, Maroc Telecom made a "Lesieur Telecom" Logo (including the lesieur logo into theirs, ), BMCE Bank made a nike logo (like they said "NIQUE BANK" ), and Barid Almaghrib just copying "La poste france" Logo (really copying, you can see both logos here.


The CNIA has been innovative with their new logo, although a litte childish , but at least they created something (so hooray to CNIA).
